Logistics:

• Position: Freelance .NET Developer (Full Stack - WPF-heavy)
• Duration: 9-Month Contract (extension highly likely)
• Location: Brussels (Hybrid - up to 3 days remote)
• Languages: English AND French or Dutch (working proficiency)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Day Rate: €(Competitive & Negotiable)

Core Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of a complex energy grid simulation tool used to calculate real-time electricity grid impact
• Deliver high-quality code using modern .NET practices (C#/.NET 8)
• Build and maintain WPF-based UIs for grid-impact calculations
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team of internal engineers and contingent experts
• Ensure solutions align with architectural standards and support critical infrastructure reliability

Essential Skills:

• Strong command of C# and .NET 8
• Advanced experience with WPF (required)
• Solid experience with SQL Server and basic familiarity with MongoDB
• Exposure to RabbitMQ and microservice-based architectures
• Good understanding of clean code principles, testing, and documentation standards

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of grid or engineering simulation tools (e.g., PowerFactory)
• Familiarity with distributed systems, asynchronous design, and performance optimization
• Experience with DevOps practices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD
• Working knowledge of additional front-end or monitoring tools (e.g., React, Splunk, SonarQube)
