🔒 Security Analyst – Contract Opportunity (10 months)

📍 Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite, downtown Edmonton)

🚀 The Opportunity

Join the Information Security team and play a key role in protecting the organization’s information assets. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic and constantly evolving digital environment, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).

🎯 Your Responsibilities

• Monitor infrastructure and apply updates, corrections, and preventive measures.
• Perform intrusion detection analyses and vulnerability assessments to ensure proactive responses.
• Support patch management and the vulnerability management process.
• Produce security indicator reports and support technical audits.
• Maintain and update the security infrastructure in line with service objectives.
• Contribute to the development, update, and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitor cybersecurity threats and stay ahead of emerging risks.

👥 The Team

You’ll report directly to the Manager – Security Services and collaborate with several specialists. The team culture fosters collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

✅ What We’re Looking For (Mandatory)

• 🎓 College or university diploma in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 🛡️ 3+ years of experience in IT security, SOC, or related information security roles.
• 📑 Solid knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, COBIT, OWASP).
• 🖥️ Hands-on experience with SIEM, firewalls, encryption, and vulnerability management tools.
• ⚙️ Familiarity with Microsoft and Linux environments, including scripting (PowerShell, Shell).
• 🔧 Proficiency with tools such as Rapid7 and CrowdStrike (or similar).

🌟 Nice-to-Have

• Experience in technical audits or compliance.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence and proactive threat hunting.
• Certifications (Security+, CySA+, CISSP, CISM, etc.) are a strong asset.
