Program Project Manager

MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for a Program Project Manager to work out of Burnaby, BC or remotely. This candidate will be responsible for managing low- to medium-risk infrastructure and construction projects. This role oversees project planning, execution, and delivery while leading cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and with high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as a project manager for Protection & Control (P&C) and Telecom infrastructure projects, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget adherence
• Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to deliver projects on time and within scope
• Lead, coach, and mentor project teams of varying experience levels, leveraging multidisciplinary resources across engineering, environment, finance, regulatory, properties, operations, legal, safety, and stakeholder relations
• Track project progress, anticipate risks and roadblocks, adjust plans as necessary, and provide constructive feedback on team and individual performance
• Manage multiple activities including quality assurance, engineering, stakeholder engagement, regulatory approvals, procurement, planning and controls, construction management, pre-commissioning, employee relations, and safety
• Perform full project management lifecycle activities, including scoping, planning, monitoring, and reporting using advanced skills in Microsoft Office and project management tools
• Initiate contract requests, support project teams in reducing exposure to contract claims, and participate in contract and claim negotiations with suppliers and contractors
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, engineers, and field crews through effective communication, presentations, and status reporting
• Establish standards for project implementation and monitoring, applying analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of project management practices to optimize resources

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience or equivalent
• Strong stakeholder relationship management and analytical skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices
• Team player with a positive attitude who can support other project managers under tight deadlines
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
• Safety sensitive and security sensitive position
• Insurance coverage required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation
• Experience working on infrastructure projects in a hybrid or remote capacity
