Junior Project Manager

An Australian R&D and manufacturing company developing advanced defence and industrial systems is expanding its team and now hiring a Junior to Mid Program / Project Manager to manage delivery of key engineering programs in a dynamic environment.

In this role, you will take ownership of a dedicated project or program, ensuring delivery against scope, schedule, and compliance requirements. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to plan, monitor, and report on progress, identify risks and dependencies, and maintain alignment with customer and stakeholder expectations. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with exposure to advanced technologies and complex engineering challenges.

This is a full-time, Adelaide-based role with excellent access to public transport and parking.

Full relocation is required for interstate candidates; cost assistance is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage planning, execution, and reporting for a dedicated project or program.
• Ensure milestones, deliverables, and dependencies are achieved in line with agreed schedules.
• Monitor risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigations where required.
• Liaise with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to maintain alignment.
• Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks.

Requirements:

• Degree-qualified Engineer (Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Systems or related discipline).
• Experience in project management within engineering, defence, aerospace, or high-technology sectors.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be an Australian citizen.

Desirable but not essential:

• Experience with project management tools and methodologies (Agile, PMBOK, PRINCE2).
• Exposure to defence compliance frameworks and reporting.
