Job Title: Java Developer – Financial Services

Location: London - 2-3x/week

Duration: 6 Months

Day Rate: £500/day Inside IR35

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with strong experience in the financial services sector to join our client’s engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications that are critical to large-scale financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality Java-based applications.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and other developers to deliver robust solutions.
• Ensure applications meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practice development standards.
• Work on end-to-end lifecycle of projects within the financial domain.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong core Java development experience (Java 8+).
• Background working within financial services (banking, trading, asset management, or similar).
• Solid understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Exposure to messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, JMS, MQ).
• Strong understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) desirable.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
