We are looking for a Product Sustainability Manager to join ECS, the newly constituted multi-country, multi-brand & omnichannel coffee player, ECS (part of Lavazza Group). You will manage sustainable packaging and coffee machine innovation activities to minimize environmental impact and promote circularity. This involves developing and managing a comprehensive packaging and coffee machine sustainability roadmap, research and development for packaging and coffee machine sustainability initiatives, and pilot programs.

📊 Your day-to-day activities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive packaging and coffee machine sustainability roadmap aligned with company sustainability goals and targets;
- Research and development to identity, evaluate, and adopt sustainable materials and solutions that meet quality and safety requirements, including design optimization for easy reuse, recycling, or composting, while minimizing con‐ sumption and emissions;
- Manage budget for packaging and coffee machine sustainability initiatives, ensuring effective resource allocation, cost-benefit analysis, and financial planning for sustainability projects;
- Initiate and manage pilot programs for testing and implementing sustainable packaging and coffee machine technolo‐ gies and materials;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Quality, Procurement) to engage partners and suppliers across the value chain;
- Manage and coordinate packaging and coffee machine sustainability initiatives across various departments (e.g., Pro‐ duction, Marketing, Sales), including sustainability considerations arising during the new product development (NPD) process;
- Ensure compliance to relevant regulations and standards relative to sustainable packaging and coffee machine mate‐ rials, technologies and practices;
- Create and manage a centralized database to systematically track and manage packaging-related information
- Monitor KPIs and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of packaging and coffee machine sustainability initiatives, identifying areas of improvement and provide actionable recommendations to senior management;
- Continuously monitor industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for enhancement and innovation and providing recommendations to senior management for decision making.
- Ability to develop and execute long-term sustainability roadmaps, driving the adoption of environmentally responsible packaging and coffee machine solutions.
- Skilled in engaging internal teams and external partners to align sustainability goals, ensure compliance, and integrate eco-design into product development.
- Expertise in managing budgets, pilot programs, and centralized data systems, with a strong focus on impact assessment, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement.
- The position is based in Turin, frequent business travel (international) is required.
