Join Our Life Sciences Team as an Automation Engineer (DeltaV Expert)

We’re excited to grow our Life Sciences team and are looking for an Automation Engineer with proven DeltaV expertise to support major capital projects in the biotech manufacturing sector. In this role, you’ll play a central part in designing, configuring, commissioning, qualifying, and supporting DeltaV systems across a range of utility and process systems, ensuring smooth, reliable, and compliant operations in a GxP-regulated environment.

What You’ll Do

• Design and configure DeltaV DCS systems for:
• Utility generation, storage, and distribution (black & clean utilities)
• HVAC systems for classified and non-classified manufacturing areas
• Environmental Monitoring Systems
• Compounding and SIP/CIP systems
• Review and validate URS, design, testing, qualification, and validation documents
• Provide technical oversight to external system integrators during configuration and testing
• Lead or support FAT/SAT activities, representing Lonza during execution and review
• Drive integrated commissioning and manage system interfaces
• Coordinate integration of 3rd-party package units into the DeltaV/OT landscape
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues to maintain system reliability
• Support eLogbook integration with MES and DeltaV
• Provide expert input to guide decisions that balance cost, schedule, and quality

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related field (Master’s a plus)
• 5+ years’ experience in automation engineering, with deep expertise in DeltaV systems
• Strong knowledge of ISA-88 / batch control structures
• Solid grasp of GxP regulations, GAMP5 (2nd edition), and 21 CFR Part 11
• Hands-on experience in pharma, biotech, or other regulated industries
• Sharp troubleshooting skills and a knack for solving complex challenges
• Fluent in English; French and/or German are strong assets
• Analytical mindset, proactive approach, and a collaborative spirit
