Java Software Engineer

We are hiring a Java Software Engineer with experience within the Financial Services for our client located in Brussels.

What you will do

• Build and enhance the Investment Dashboard used by thousands of customers for investment insights.
• Develop scalable backend solutions using Java 8, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Flink.
• Collaborate in an Agile Scrum squad to deliver end-to-end features within 2-week sprints.
• Contribute to automated testing using JUnit, Cucumber, and Wiremock.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and scripting (Groovy).
• Work closely with both onshore and offshore teammates in a flat, self-steering squad structure.
• Focus on delivering high-value, secure, and maintainable software aligned with business needs.

What you bring

• At least 3 years of professional Java development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, and REST API development.
• Exposure to data streaming (Flink) and automated testing frameworks like Cucumber.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven).
• Good understanding of software architecture, integration patterns, and DevOps best practices.
• Agile mindset with a collaborative, respectful, and continuous improvement mentality.
• Fluent in English.
