We’re looking for an experienced Java/Angular Developer - Google Cloud Platform Specialist (Dutch-speaking) to support a long-term digital transformation project at a major organisation in Brussels. You'll be at the forefront of migrating legacy systems to modern cloud-native architecture using Google App Engine, while building full-stack features in Java and Angular.

Logistics:

• Position: Freelance Java/Angular Developer - GCP Specialist
• Duration: Long-term
• Location: Brussels (Hybrid – 2 days/week on-site)
• Languages: English & Dutch (mandatory)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Day Rate: €(Negotiable & Competitive)

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of legacy applications to Google App Engine
• Develop scalable front-end and back-end components using Angular and Java
• Integrate and automate workflows using Google APIs and UpScript (Google Apps Script)
• Deploy and manage applications in Google Cloud and OpenShift environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to architecture discussions
• Ensure high standards in code quality, security, and performance

Essential Skills:

• 6+ years of experience in full-stack development (Java + Angular)
• Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform, especially App Engine
• Proven experience with legacy-to-cloud migration projects
• Solid understanding of OpenShift, containers, and deployment best practices
• Working knowledge of Google APIs and scripting via UpScript
• Strong team communication skills in Dutch
