The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity for an emerging data professional (2-4 years' experience) to specialise in Snowflake technologies whilst building expertise in the energy and utilities sector. This role offers structured mentorship, hands-on experience with cutting-edge data platforms, and the opportunity to contribute to Australia's energy transition through data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior consultants in client engagements and technical delivery
- Participate in client workshops and technical discovery sessions
- Assist with documentation, technical specifications, and project deliverables
- Learn energy industry domain knowledge through structured mentorship
Required Skills and Experience
- Snowflake Foundation: Develop proficiency in Snowflake's core features including data loading, querying, and basic administration
- Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowpipe, dbt, and cloud-native integration tools
- SQL Development: Write efficient SQL queries for data transformation, analysis, and reporting requirements
- Data Quality: Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes
- Basic understanding of Snowflake concepts, architecture and core features
Qualifications & Opportunity
- Certification Target: Commitment to achieving SnowPro Core certification within 12 months
- Energy Sector Curiosity: Genuine interest in energy, utilities, and sustainability domains
- Learning Commitment: Willingness to develop energy industry knowledge and domain expertise
- Regulatory Awareness: Interest in understanding compliance and regulatory requirements
- Technology Trends: Enthusiasm for renewable energy, smart grids, and digital transformation
- Energy Background: Previous internship or project experience in energy/utilities sector
- Data Visualisation: Basic experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices
- Agile Methodologies: Understanding of agile development and project management practices
- Mentorship Programme: Assigned senior mentor for technical and career guidance
- Certification Support: Company-sponsored Snowflake certification training and exam fees
- Industry Training: Specialised training in energy markets, grid operations, and utility systems
- Consulting Skills: Training in client management, project delivery, and consulting methodologies
