About the opportunity

At Halfbrick, we create unforgettable games played by millions around the world—including Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, and many more in the pipeline. As a Mid-Level Full Stack / Platform Developer, you'll join a small but world-class team building the technology that powers our games across mobile, console, and PC platforms.

This role is perfect for a developer who values clean architecture, intuitive developer experiences, and reliable, scalable systems. You'll contribute across the full stack, SDKs, APIs, dashboards, and cloud infrastructure, to support our game teams and create robust tools that amplify creativity and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Front-end & Tooling
    • Design and implement UI components, Unity Editor extensions, and web dashboards to expose SDK functionality and support developers.
    • Collaborate with UX and design teams to deliver elegant, user-friendly workflows and diagnostic tools.
  • Client-side SDKs
    • Contribute to cross-platform client libraries (C#, C++, Objective-C, Java) for game and platform integration across mobile, PC, and consoles.
    • Maintain clean, idiomatic APIs with strong attention to backwards compatibility and versioning.
  • Back-end & Services
    • Build and maintain REST/gRPC services using Go, Node.js, or similar technologies.
    • Integrate with backend systems such as Firebase, Nakama, AWS, or GCP, focusing on performance and reliability.
  • Team Practices & Quality
    • Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
    • Conduct peer reviews, write automated tests, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
    • Troubleshoot issues, analyze performance, and implement root-cause fixes when needed.
  • Documentation & Support
    • Produce clear technical documentation, developer guides, and release notes.
    • Support internal and external teams with SDK integration and best practice implementation.
Skills/Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and API best practices.
  • Proficiency in at least one client-side language (C#, C++, Java, or Objective-C) and one server-side language (Go, Node.js, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with REST/gRPC APIs and designing for long-term maintainability and compatibility.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and platforms.

Pluses

  • Unity engine and Editor scripting knowledge.
  • Mobile SDK development and native platform experience (iOS/Android).
  • Experience with backend platforms like Nakama or Firebase.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), containerization, and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
