Network Engineering Lead - Amstelveen, Netherlands

Location – Amstelveen area – Some Hybrid working

Salary – to €70k (dep on exp) + Travel Allowance + Bens

Environment: - Networking, CCNP, Cisco, SD-Wan, Wireless, Meraki, Lan, Security, Telephony, IPSec, Design, Implementation, Project Delivery, Office365, Team Leader, Man Manager.

My client is a leading ICT specialist in the field of business internet, network services, security and telephony. From reliable and safe internet, mobile and Cloud telephony to Office365.

My client is looking for an active and inspiring team leader for their Networking team of 6 Engineers.

Day to Day duties include:-

To provide guidance, as well as technical expertise, to their Network Engineering and Support teams.

• You will work closely with the internal engineering program teams to ensure network related projects are translated into operations efficiently and seamlessly, therefore developing an effective working relationship with their engineers is vital.
• Work closely with the Team leader Service Delivery and the Service Delivery team to facilitate continuous change of existing solutions.
• Ensure that customised customer requirements are assessed and developed in a manner that maintains the integrity and stability of the network.
• Responsible for the security of the network, including supporting internal governance meetings as well as external third-party penetration testing and appropriate audits.
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement, particularly around tooling, capabilities and efficiency (automation, monitoring, systems, skills).
• Stay up to date on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to WAN, LAN, and SD-WAN services.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including troubleshooting guides, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures.
• Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the support team(s) to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain customer network solutions in daily business operations.
• Perform upgrades and be proactive in maintaining firmware versions on all devices.
• Ensure incident escalation from tier 2 and technical service desk teams.
• Night-time call-out coverage for serious customer incidents.

• In-depth knowledge of LAN and SD-WAN technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls and WAN optimization, and wireless technology.
• Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS and VLANs.
• Applicants are typically CCNP qualified or working toward this.
• Vendor-specific experience in Cisco routing and switching.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols, internal and external BGP, OSPF & EIGRP
• Advanced knowledge of routers, switches, firewalls and Access Control Lists (ACLs)
• Understanding routers and core network infrastructure
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing and troubleshooting IP networks
• Strong background in configuring firewalls for corporate and/or ISP services, including:
• Centralised/virtual firewall policies and best practices.
• VPN technologies
• IPSec build/site to site policy
• DPI Policy for Internet Traffic
• A good understanding of network security.
