Backend Engineer – Node.js / DevOps / AI Infrastructure

Location: Remote

I'm working with a forward-thinking client who’s building infrastructure to support next-generation AI applications, and they're looking to bring on a hands-on Backend Engineer to join their growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong backend engineering experience with DevOps instincts and a keen interest in enabling AI workflows - not in building models, but in creating the infrastructure that powers them.

The Tech You'll Be Working With:

• Node.js (ideally with TypeScript)
• Nginx – including load balancing, routing, and security optimisation
• Terraform – for infrastructure-as-code and managing cloud environments
• API-first design principles – building scalable, maintainable backend systems
• DevOps best practices – particularly around CI/CD, observability, and security
• Supporting AI/LLM/GenAI workflows – including inference, prompt orchestration, and associated infra (not model development)

Bonus Experience (Nice to Have):

• Working with GCP, especially Vertex AI
• Experience with document processing pipelines
• Exposure to compliance tooling
