Job Summary:
We are looking for a Project Technician with a hands-on approach and a strong foundation in networking technologies to assist in the deployment and maintenance of managed network services at client locations. The successful candidate will support Wi-Fi installations, perform cabling work, and handle fiber optic tasks under the supervision of a senior engineer. This role suits individuals who are technically skilled, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Wi-Fi system installations and perform signal strength and coverage checks using diagnostic tools
Troubleshoot basic connectivity issues, such as SSID configurations, user access problems, and signal interference
Support the configuration of Wi-Fi devices (e.g., access points) under supervision
Handle structured cabling tasks including Cat5e/Cat6 cable routing, labeling, and RJ-45 termination
Perform fiber optic cable splicing, trimming, and testing using OTDR and related tools
Install and secure network devices such as switches, routers, and wireless access points
Maintain detailed documentation of installation activities and completed tasks
Provide basic technical assistance to clients and end-users as needed
Ensure adherence to all safety and quality protocols during site work
Required Knowledge & Skills:
English language is a must, Urdu, Bengali, or Nepali is preferred
Working knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies, including SSID, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands
Ability to conduct Wi-Fi signal strength and coverage testing
Basic troubleshooting across Windows, macOS, and Linux environments
Strong cabling skills: crimping, tracing, labeling, and testing copper cables
Experience with fiber optic handling, splicing, and testing (preferably with OTDR)
Ability to follow technical diagrams and instructions precisely
Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
Effective communication and team collaboration skills
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), or Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) preferred
Previous field experience in network installations, structured cabling, or technical site support
