Bumble is looking for a person who will help with our Payments fraud & risk mitigation. Payments is at the heart of our product & moving at a fast-pace. As such, it is imperative that as we grow we also scale our global fraud strategy.
Reporting to our Payments Fraud Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the crafting and delivering of our fraud strategy that plays a key role in ensuring our payment experience is secure, safe and fair for our Customers. You will be part of a team responsible for payments fraud strategy, producing effective payments fraud insights that help inform Business decisions and ultimately achieve the optimum balance between protecting our business from loss, and promoting growth.
This role is a great opportunity for someone that is passionate about fraud prevention, has great interpersonal skills and experience working with cross-functional teams and data & analytics tools.
What You'll Do- Monitor and analyse transactions, customer accounts, and other activities to detect suspicious patterns, anomalies, or potentially fraudulent behaviour.
- Develop knowledge of internal data, including user behaviour metrics, and payment infrastructure to gain insights into fraud patterns and to further advance our fraud strategy.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory changes to identify and validate future requirements and opportunities.
- Monitor key fraud related metrics (such as chargeback rates, false positives, chargeback defence rates), to develop our fraud prognosis.
- Produce and maintain additional dashboards and reports to highlight fraud trends, with clear and understandable visuals.
- Updating our rule-based fraud tool to ensure fraud patterns are flagged.
- Collaborate in fraud related investigations and relay your knowledge and findings to the fraud unit.
- Manage technical projects between internal & external development teams.
- Support of ad-hoc analytical and reporting requests.
- Enhance our paywall & conversion reporting
About You- Analytical operations expertise: 2+ years of experience within an analytics department, conducting investigations and delivering actionable insights.
- Detailed oriented and analytical to be able to understand, map, present and improve processes.
- Knowledge & understanding of the payment fraud industry and detection software/tools.
- Knowledge & understanding of the digital, app based sector.A track record of interacting collaboratively with colleagues in technical and operational divisions
- A Degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics, is a plus.
- Demonstrable examples of delivering analytical conclusions with SQL outputs is a must, Python is desirable
- Knowledge of payment fraud classifications and mechanisms to detect fraud pre and post purchase.
- Ideally, fraud domain expertise providing scalable solutions to mitigate fraud losses within a large-scale payment/e-commerce operations team
- Adept at identifying issues and providing well thought out and structured solutions.
- Has experience communicating findings to senior leadership teams.
