Junior Software Development Engineer

Exciting opportunity for a Junior Software Development Engineer, to join AXA Partners organisation within the Development team. This role is offering the chance for a highly driven Junior Development engineer. AXA is open to a background in React JS, Angular, Vue JS, Java language (or relevant framework). The role will help progress towards our Agile/DevOps mission, working with cross functional teams in multiple locations. Includes potential for a few days remote smart working, flexibility, training and development, and great progression opportunity.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Executing full lifecycle software development
• Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
• Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
• Learn new technologies, toolsets and skills relating to software development
• Document and maintain software functionality including documenting technical specifications
• Become familiar with working and contributing to an agile / scrum dev team
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to Excellence, strong work ethics with clear focus on delivery and quality
• Good time management, organisational, and communication skills working in Agile team
• Good attitude to learning and understanding the company tools and products
  
  

What You’ll Bring

Skills & Experience:

• Some working experience in Software industry with focus on development in any of the following technologies - React, Angular, Java/J2EE, Spring framework (particularly around Spring Core, Spring MVC, Spring Security) would be a distinct advantage
• Knowledge of Rest APIs and publishing/consuming APIs
• Be a genuine team player with a focus on continuous improvement
• Have experience working with source code repositories
• Excellent communicator, fluent in English, good collaborator
• Good Problem-solving skills
• Have a passion for developing engaging consumer experiences
• Self-development skills to keep up to date with fast-changing trends
• The ability to troubleshoot and debug
• Any CI/CD or containerization or Agile experience will be added advantage
  
  

Education & Professional Qualifications

• BSc Computer Science or similar experience
