Java Application Developer

Urgent Hiring: Junior Java Developer (Spring Boot, Kafka) - Start by 4th August

Location: Ghent (Hybrid – 50% Onsite, 50% Remote)

Daily Rate: € negotiable

Start Date: Ideally 4th August (for handover)

Language Requirement: Dutch-speaking

We are urgently looking for a Junior Java Developer to join our partners team as a current developer transitions out. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2-3 years of experience who’s looking to work in a dynamic, hybrid environment and grow their skills with hands-on involvement in both maintenance and new development.

Responsibilities:

• 50% Debugging and fixing bugs in existing applications
• 50% Enhancing and building new applications

Required Skills:

• Spring Boot
• Kafka
• OpenShift
• Basic understanding of querying mechanisms
• Relational Databases (MySQL)
• ETL processes

Candidate Profile:

• 1–2 years of hands-on development experience
• Comfortable working in a hybrid setup (50% onsite in Ghent)
• Proactive, eager to learn, and able to pick up tasks quickly
• Dutch language proficiency is required
