Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Zurich, Switzerland (Hybrid)

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our client's team and support the development of an automated recommendation system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Focus on data engineering tasks and managing backend processes using SQL and Databricks (experience with Databricks is advantageous).
• Front-end Development: Build and maintain front-end components using HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, as well as creating interactive data visualizations with tools such as Plotly.
• Scripting & Automation: Use Python and libraries like scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy to automate processes and enhance system performance.
• API Development: Design and develop simple APIs to integrate data and improve accessibility.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform unit testing to ensure high-quality, reliable code.
• Documentation: Create clear documentation for code, processes, and workflows to ensure easy maintainability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into the data ecosystem (ML experience is a plus).

Additional Skills & Experience:

• Experience in an agile work environment, with familiarity in using tools like Jira being a plus.
• Previous experience working in the Lifesciences industry.
