Cyber Security Consultant

Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Consultant to join our team, supporting security initiatives across our telecom infrastructure. This role is ideal for professionals with foundational cybersecurity experience who are eager to contribute to securing large-scale, mission-critical systems and gain exposure to telecom-specific environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in drafting and maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures and security standards.
• Support the deployment, configuration and ongoing management of cybersecurity tools such as firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus and vulnerability scanners.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to implement basic security controls and best practices.
• Participate in risk assessments, internal audits and vulnerability scans.
• Monitor and analyze security alerts/logs, escalate issues as necessary and assist with incident response efforts.
• Maintain accurate documentation of security assets, configurations and tool deployments.
• Contribute to compliance and regulatory reporting efforts.
• Stay updated with the latest threats, vulnerabilities and trends in cybersecurity especially within the telecom domain.
• Support awareness and training initiatives to promote a strong cybersecurity culture across the organization.
• Learn and apply security principles in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a cybersecurity role.
• Solid foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts including risk management, data protection and incident response.
• Basic understanding of networking principles and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, firewalls, VPN, encryption).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools (SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability scanners, etc.).
• Willingness to gain expertise in telecom-related infrastructure and protocols.
• Strong documentation, communication and analytical skills.

Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have):

• CompTIA Security+
• Cisco CyberOps Associate
• EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) – Associate Level
