Head of IT

I’m partnered with a venture-backed AI biotech that’s redefining biology. Founded by leaders from DeepMind and a renowned European biotech, this company is building the first universal AI foundation model for biology. A platform being compared to AlphaFold for its impact potential, it enables scientists and researchers to simulate the biological world to "predict disease outcomes" and develop more effective treatements. Following a major funding round, they are entering a rapid scale-up phase.

They are on the hunt for a Head of IT to build and lead the IT function from the ground up in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

This strategic and hands-on role will oversee:

• Establish and lead the entire IT function as the backbone of a fast-growing company.
• Design and optimise scalable, cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.
• Establish secure and compliant data systems to support large-scale AI model development and automation.
• Oversee company-wide IT operations (hardware, onboarding, tools, support).
• Develop cybersecurity protocols aligned with GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
• Build and lead a high-performing IT team across cloud, security, and support functions.

What their looking for:

• The ideal candidate will have deep experience scaling IT in fast-growing environments (deep tech/startup experience ideal).
• Strong mix of strategic vision and hands-on execution
• Strong technical expertise in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, security, compliance and data management - particularly related to ML/data-intensive applications.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A biological/AI background or exposure would be an advantage.

This is a permanent role, with remote options for EU based candidates and regular visits to Paris and has a competitive salary + RSU package.
