Role Overview

We’re seeking a skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in Node.js, Python, and a deep understanding of TypeScript and JavaScript. You’ll be part of a close-knit product team contributing to the design, development, and scaling of backend services that support next-gen medical data platforms.

This is a great opportunity for a backend engineer based in or near Rome who enjoys working on meaningful products and is comfortable in a hybrid setup (2 days per week in the office).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Python
• Work closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and product managers to integrate services
• Ensure high code quality, performance, and security standards
• Troubleshoot and debug complex systems
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical discussions

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of professional experience as a backend developer
• Strong hands-on experience with both Node.js and Python
• Deep understanding of TypeScript and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and database interactions
• Based in or near Rome, with the ability to work in-office 2 days per week
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Strong communication skills (Italian or English)

Nice to Have:

• Experience in health-tech or data-driven applications
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
• Background in AI/ML environments
