Senior Java Engineer

What You'll Be Doing:

• Build, enhance and maintain high-performance Java microservices using Spring Boot, deployed on GCP
• Design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs, contributing to a scalable and low-latency system
• Work on simplification and migration of legacy platforms
• Leverage modern data technologies including Cassandra (with Gremlin), Spanner, and SQL/NoSQL
• Collaborate with multiple squads, participate in peer reviews, and drive engineering excellence
• Support APIs enabling Open Banking, third-party servicing, account origination, and data sharing

About You:

• Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot microservices
• Solid knowledge of API design (REST & GraphQL) and event-driven/messaging systems
• Familiarity with Cassandra or other NoSQL DBs
• Passion for building scalable, performant systems with clean, maintainable code
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and containerisation
• Exposure to contract testing, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python or Shell) is a plus
• Comfortable participating in on-call rotation (quarterly)
