Charles Levick have partnered with a market leader within the Energy Trading space, We have been commissioned to find a highly motivated Senior Quantitative Analyst as they continue to expand their ever growing team.
Your role & responsibilities
- You will be a key member of the quantitative research and trading team, focusing on developing and implementing models to support trading strategies in intraday and day-ahead power markets.
- Develop, validate, and maintain quantitative models for predicting power prices and market behavior in the intraday and day-ahead power markets.
- Analyze large datasets from market sources, weather forecasts, and trading data to generate insights and inform trading strategies.
- Implement and enhance short-term forecasting models, using techniques such as machine learning, time series analysis, and statistical methods to predict price fluctuations and trading opportunities.
- Support risk management by building and refining models to assess and mitigate risks associated with trading positions.
Must Have
- 2+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, in energy trading or a related field.
- Direct experience with intraday and/or day-ahead power markets
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modeling techniques.
