Location: Remote and/or Munich, Germany
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
About Us: TransparenC is a data visualization and risk mitigation tool for nature-based carbon projects. We use powerful remote sensing data to tell tangible and objective stories of project impact, providing a critical medium for combating greenwashing concerns, especially with the general public and non-specialized investors.
Our interactive visualizations simplify carbon market impact and credit quality: 91% of people get a better understanding of project impact and 87% of people are more inclined to trust the validity when visualized by TransparenC (independently-run survey of 500 randomly-selected employees).
Our primary focus is to use objective datasets, not for carbon credit ratings or dMRV (digital Monitoring Reporting and Verification), but to increase understanding of project impact. We fundamentally believe that - in the absence of regulation and clear guidance - effective marketing is the key driver to unlock required capital. We work with a variety of VCM players - from investors, developers, intermediaries, rating agencies to buyers.
In our first four months since launch (June 2024), we have visualized over 3.5 million hectares across five project types (ARR, REDD+, Mangroves, Seagrass, IFM) and 13 globally-dispersed nations.
