Puzzle Game Designer (Remote Contractor)

We’re looking for an experienced Puzzle Game Designer to join our remote team as a contractor. In this role, you’ll design and refine engaging puzzle mechanics, build high-retention levels, and work closely with developers and artists to bring new ideas to life. You should be comfortable using data to guide your decisions and iterate quickly based on feedback.

This is a 12-month contract, full-time, remote position for candidates based in Turkey.

Key Responsibilities

• Design core puzzle mechanics, metagame systems, and content loops
• Create fun, well-paced, and scalable level designs for mobile gameplay
• Work with the team to prototype and iterate on game ideas quickly
• Use analytics and player feedback to improve retention, difficulty balance, and progression
• Document and communicate design logic clearly for developers and artists
• Stay updated on puzzle and casual game trends and use that knowledge to innovate

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing puzzle or casual mobile games
• Proven track record of shipping successful mobile titles
• Strong understanding of level pacing, difficulty curves, and retention mechanics
• Experience using tools like Unity (basic), Excel/Google Sheets, and level editors
• Data-driven mindset: comfortable interpreting KPIs like D1/D7 retention and funnel drop-off
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment
• Bonus: experience with A/B testing, economy balancing, or LiveOps content planning
