Wordpress Developer

Are you an experienced WordPress Developer looking for your next contract opportunity? We're working with a well-established client in need of a talented developer to step in and support their digital team during a 6-month Fixed Term maternity leave contract.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys building, maintaining, and optimising high-performing WordPress websites.

About the Role You'll be responsible for the end-to-end development and upkeep of the client's suite of WordPress sites, including implementing new features, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring top-tier user experience. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, design, and content teams, to deliver seamless digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance existing WordPress websites
• Develop custom themes, plugins, and modules
• Ensure websites are optimised for SEO, speed, and responsiveness
• Troubleshoot bugs and technical issues as they arise
• Support digital marketing campaigns and content updates
• Maintain security, performance, and backup processes

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of commercial experience in WordPress development
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
• Strong experience building custom themes and plugins
• Familiarity with page builders (Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg)
• Solid grasp of SEO best practices and performance optimisation
• Experience with Git/version control
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
