Head of Digital Hub Section
Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for guiding the development and enhancement of GPSSA’s digital channels and front-end systems. This role focuses on ensuring that these initiatives align with organizational priorities and provide seamless user experiences. This role collaborates with various team members to translate business requirements into effective digital solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and integration.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities
Development and Enhancement
- Leads the development and enhancement of GPSSA’s digital channels, core mobile apps, and front-end systems, aligning them with strategic business objectives and ensuring they meet organizational priorities.
- Collaborates closely with business analysts, digital customer experience (CX) specialists, and stakeholders to capture requirements, translate them into actionable product development, and deliver high-quality digital solutions.
- Designs and optimizes user journey procedures and experiences, ensuring alignment with business operations, customer needs, and best UX practices.
- Oversees the development, testing, and maintenance of digital channels and front-end systems, ensuring seamless user experiences across all touchpoints.
- Leads the design and implementation of responsive, scalable, and high-performance front-end systems that meet organizational goals and user requirements.
Integration and Collaboration
- Oversees the design, integration, and optimization of digital channels and front-end systems with various enterprise platforms, working closely with integration specialists to ensure smooth and secure communication between systems.
- Works collaboratively with the Data and AI team to ensure that digital channels and mobile applications align with data models, analytics, and business intelligence strategies, enabling data-driven decision-making and personalized user experiences.
- Expertise in middleware and enterprise service bus (ESB) technologies to manage complex integrations and ensure high availability and resilience of systems.
- Utilizes cloud computing platforms for hosting and scaling digital services, ensuring they are optimized for performance and security.
Vendor and Quality Assurance Management
- Manages relationships with external vendors, contractors, and technology partners for specialized development, integration, and testing activities, ensuring adherence to GPSSA’s standards and requirements.
- Supervises system designers and engineers to implement rigorous quality assurance (QA) practices throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, bug-free products.
- Oversees performance testing, security testing, and usability evaluations to ensure all digital platforms, mobile apps, and integrations meet or exceed required performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Implements automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery and improvement.
People Management Responsibilities
- Defines clear goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), and success metrics for all team members, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the department and organization.
- Effectively manages team performance by conducting regular evaluations, providing actionable feedback, identifying development needs, and providing coaching to enhance capabilities and career growth.
- Fosters a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team, promoting knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Mentors junior developers, UX/UI designers, and QA engineers, ensuring they have the skills and tools to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Provides leadership in the recruitment and retention of top talent, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to meet evolving business needs and digital transformation objectives.
Technical Competencies
- Expertise in mobile app development, front-end and web development, and back-end systems. Proficiency in DevOps, cloud architecture and system integration. Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance with privacy regulations, and user-centered UX/UI design
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12+ years in digital development and enhancement
- This is an Emiratization role
