Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operation and Support

• Operate, install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco devices such as routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points, Nexus switches, SD-WAN devices, FortiGate firewalls, and other security appliances
• Manage and support Aruba and Extreme switches and wireless solutions
• Ensure the stability, performance, and security of enterprise networks through pro-active monitoring and maintenance

Device Management and Troubleshooting

• Perform advanced network configurations and troubleshooting for Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco and Aruba wireless equipment, Extreme networking devices, Citrix ADC switches, and Cisco voice devices (CME, Call Manager)
• Support Cisco Catalyst Center and operate WIPS technology for wireless security and management
• Configure, manage, and optimize FortiGate firewalls for enterprise security
• Deploy and manage Saisei QoS solutions for advanced traffic shaping and performance optimization
• Install, configure, and support Riverbed WAN Accelerator appliances for application acceleration and bandwidth optimization
• Manage and troubleshoot NAC devices for secure network access
• Support and maintain Polycom VC and Cisco Room Kit VC solutions for seamless video conferencing

Circuits Management, Operation, and Delivery

• Manage network circuits, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable connectivity
• Coordinate with service providers and vendors for circuit deliveries, installation, upgrades, and maintenance
• Ensure timely delivery and operational readiness of new circuits and network services

Incident and Change Management

• Lead the investigation and resolution of major network incidents, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Manage network changes, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring minimal impact on business operations
• Document all network-related incidents, changes, and troubleshooting procedures

Network Optimization and Security

• Monitor network performance using advanced tools, identify potential issues, and implement improvements to reduce latency and enhance efficiency
• Maintain network security by implementing best practices and participating in security audits
• Collaborate with multi-tier support and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network operations

Travel Requirements

• Travel within the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region as and when required to support network installations, troubleshooting, and service delivery
• Be available for on-site support and participate in off-hours or emergency responses as and when needed

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Nexus switches, SD-WAN, FortiGate firewalls, and other firewall
• Experience with Aruba and Extreme switches and wireless solutions
• Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Center and WIPS technology
• Experience with Saisei QoS, Riverbed WAN Accelerator, and NAC devices
• Hands-on experience with Polycom VC, Cisco Room Kit VC, Citrix ADC switches, and Cisco voice devices (CME, Call Manager)
• Experience in circuits management, provisioning, and delivery
• Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and security protocols
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot advanced network technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, VPNs)
• Proficiency with PRTG, WhatsUp Gold, Zabbix, and similar monitoring tools
