Freelance Senior UI/UX Designer - Shape the Future of Energy!

We’re hiring for an exciting freelance opportunity with a leading European energy infrastructure operator. Join a digital transformation mission that directly supports the green energy transition across Belgium and Europe.

Logistics:

• Position: Freelance Senior UI/UX Designer
• Duration: 12-Month Contract (with yearly extensions)
• Location: Brussels (Hybrid – 2–3 days remote/week)
• Languages: English (French, Dutch, or German are a plus)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Day Rate: € (Competitive & Negotiable)

Core Responsibilities:

• Lead UI design for corporate web platforms as part of a major digital revamp.
• Collaborate with UX researchers, Product Owners, and Developers using Figma and a shared Design System.
• Facilitate ideation and co-design workshops with internal teams and end-users.
• Deliver wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and comprehensive user flows.
• Define and evaluate interaction models based on measurable UX success criteria.
• Contribute to UI/UX Chapter activities such as feedback sessions and design reviews.

Essential Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in UI Design, Interaction Design, and Information Architecture.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma and Miro.
• Expertise in UI patterns, visual design principles, and pixel-perfect execution.
• Strong portfolio that showcases real-world problem-solving and design process.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Understanding of HTML/CSS and how designs translate into code.
• Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with Sitecore XM Cloud is a strong plus.
• Background in energy, infrastructure, or sustainability-driven projects.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects with autonomy.
• Passion for accessibility, simplicity, and scalable design systems.
