AI Machine Learning Engineer - Personalization

Perplexity is seeking experienced Applied AI&ML Engineers to help build next generation of personalization experience. In this role, you'll focus on improving user happiness on Perplexity by making the content highly relevant, personal and inspiring. Responsibilities include architecting and building the next generation of personalization platform and models which serve as the foundation of highly personalized Perplexity user journey; building effective data and models for LLM content and converting them into personalized ML signals which drive customized recommendation; working across stack to deliver various types of models (LLM to DNN) to end users in a scalable and performant way; partnering with product managers and partner team engineers to ensure fast and high quality deliverable to end users. Qualifications include strong programming skills with the ability to work across the stack in a typical recommendation system or LLM stack; experience in training DNN and Transformer architecture models; experience in working with other LLM APIs to complete tasks like fine tuning, prompt mining or prototyping new ideas; understanding how to make tradeoffs in using different models; self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of tasks; a passion for shipping quality products; and 4+ years of industry experience.
