Job Title: Security Specialist – Azure Data Analytics Platform

Location: Remote EU

Contract Duration: 3 months (approx. 60 working days)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Security Specialist to design and execute a comprehensive security assessment of our Data Analytics Platform built on Azure. The role involves reviewing current security architectures, performing threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance our security posture. The specialist will also contribute to establishing DevSecOps processes for ongoing security maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review networking and access control mechanisms across all platform components.
• Conduct threat modeling, ideally using the STRIDE methodology.
• Identify, report, and categorize vulnerabilities within the platform.
• Provide detailed recommendations to improve overall security posture.
• Advise on establishing and enhancing DevSecOps processes aligned with security best practices.
• Perform penetration testing in collaboration with internal teams as required.
• Monitor and evaluate security implementations and performance.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Proven professional experience designing and implementing security solutions using Azure security services such as Security Centre, Key Vault, and VPN.
• Strong understanding of firewalls, 3-tier architectures, and network security principles.
• Hands-on experience with intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS).
• Analytical skills for root cause analysis of defects and security incidents.
• Experience with performance measurement and security monitoring.
• Good knowledge of Azure access control and security configurations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with threat modeling, preferably STRIDE.
• Practical experience with penetration testing, vulnerability identification, and remediation planning.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and implementation.
• Knowledge of security configurations for Power BI, Azure Storage Accounts, VNets/Subnets.
• Exposure to security considerations for Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and CosmosDB is a plus.
