Senior Software Engineer

Kongsberg Maritime Finland Oy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing inhouse software development team to develop modern systems for Remote & Autonomous operations within Kongsberg Maritime, Remote Operation Solutions team. You can find out more about the solutions here.

Basic information

• Location: Turku
• Remote working: flexible hybrid working model
• Permanent, full-time role
• Starting date: as per agreement

Main responsibilities and key tasks

You will participate in work related to development of systems related to the R&A context. The main tasks of this role are:

• Develop and maintain core modules related to the Remote Operation Center
• Design, implement and test solutions in an agile manner
• Participate in technical work in system to system maritime integrations
• Enhance the software development process and practices together with the team

What Kongsberg expects from you

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology or in a similar field or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge from multiple years of experience in a software engineering role.

These key qualifications are most essential:

• C++ development, or similar programming language
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Linux operating system technical knowledge
• Understanding of modern software development environment
• Good understanding of Docker
• Understanding of network protocols such as DDS, WebSocket, RabbitMQ, Kafka or gRPC
• Experience of SW & HW integrations is considered an advantage
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English (Finnish, Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage)
