Group Description: The Jefferies Equity-Linked Capital Markets group originates and executes equity-linked financings, including convertible debt, convertible preferred, mandatory convertibles and equity derivatives for our global clients. Our team partners with the firm’s investment banking professionals advising public and private corporations on equity-linked issuances and other aspects of the equity markets. Our Equity-Linked team liaises with sales professionals, traders and research analysts in our global convertible sales and trading group. The interaction between these groups provides us with excellent market intelligence, industry knowledge and execution capabilities. Position: The Equity-linked Group is actively looking for an experienced Analyst or Associate to join the team in our New York office.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Pitch and execute U.S. equity-linked securities
• Prepare comparable credit analysis and price convertible securities
• Execution of mandated deals includes structuring, negotiation of legal documents and coordination of marketing materials to position the Company with investors
• Examine the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions including tax, accounting, and cost of capital impact
• Ability to manage a range of non-standard and one-off assignments
• Respond to immediate client inquiries and manage ongoing client relationships
• Research potential targets, markets and sector trends
• Attend client meetings across the U.S. with senior bankers
• Develop and maintain relationships with other market participants, advisors and the investment community

Required Background:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); preferred Finance or Accounting related studies
• 1-5 years of Investment Banking experience, equity capital markets experience strongly preferred
• Understanding of capital markets is required and previous experience in equity-linked is preferred
• Strong financial and analytical skills essential
• Rigorous eye for detail
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a number of different workstreams
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Insightful, reasoned and a self-starter

Desired Experience / Skills:

• Knowledge of financial modelling preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently as a self-starter

The salary range for this role is $110,000-$225,000
