Platform Engineer

Role Purpose:

We are looking for someone to join us at Boku as a Platform Engineer in Estonia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and optimizing our cloud-based solutions using Infrastructure as a code (IaC). Additionally, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams to implement best practices and regularly review existing systems for improvement. The locations: Tartu or Tallinn.

Key Responsibilities:

Management of AWS infrastructure components using infrastructure-as-code approach:

• Management of CI / CD pipelines, configuration management and monitoring tools

• Responding to incidents and participating in technical investigations.

• Building automated solutions for recurring tasks.

• Driving cross-team security initiatives.

• Driving technical choices for improving our infrastructure platform.

• Participating in designing the future technical platform and tools

• Responding to incidents and participating in technical investigations

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• At least 3 years of experience in DevOps / Infrastructure/ Platform engineering role.

• Hands-on experience with cloud computing tools, especially AWS.

• Deep knowledge of computer networking architecture, protocols and standards

• Proficiency with public key infrastructure

• A Familiarity with databases (Postgres, MySQL, DynamoDB) and an openness to exploring cloud-first options

• Familiarity with messaging brokers like RabbitMQ and Kafka.

Critical skills and competencies:

• Experienced in management of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• Experienced with infrastructure-as-code (currently CloudFormation, Terraform)

• Monitoring tools (Elastic stack; Grafana, Prometheus, Site24x7)

• Proficiency with Linux and bash

• Knowledge in public key infrastructure

• Configuration management (Ansible, Chef)

• Comfortable with CI/CD

Certifications (not a must, but preferable)

• AWS, Kubernetes Certification is a plus

• Kubernetes competency is a plus
