Reliability Engineer

We are partnered with an established financial services organisation to look for an API Reliability Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on, resilient, and highly skilled engineer to take ownership of cloud-based API integration platforms, specifically IBM API Connect and DataPower.

This is a critical operations focused role supporting 24/7 security and integration infrastructure under a global follow the sun model. You will be the primary expert during the Singapore time zone shift, responsible for incident response, platform stability, and integration support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and support IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower platforms in a production environment
• Lead incident investigation, triage, and root cause analysis for integration issues
• Monitor system performance and operational dashboards (e.g., DataPower Dashboard)
• Deploy application releases and infrastructure changes
• Implement automation for deployment using tools like Ansible, Bitbucket, and Bamboo
• Collaborate with global teams across North America, London, and Asia for handovers and escalations
• Ensure compliance with operational SOPs, SLAs, and security protocols
• Provide platform support in a high-availability, high-risk financial services environment

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of proven expertise in IBM API Connect and IBM DataPower (must-have)
• Experience in TLS, HTTPS, PKI, certificates, and network security troubleshooting
• Operational knowledge of DataPower dashboards and API Connect analytics
• Basic Linux OS skills; comfortable with shell scripting and file system management
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Ansible, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
• Packet analysis and network routing understanding (e.g., subnets, load balancing)
• Experience working in regulated, high-pressure environments (banking or equivalent)
• Prior experience in financial institutions, retail banking, software houses, or IT service providers
• Candidates with vendor-side experience who understand support escalation and production challenges
