DevOps Engineer – AWS Specialist (Contractor)

About the Role
Work with internal teams to build and scale critical transportation systems. Drive projects end-to-end, from writing and editing code to building metrics, back-end services, and scaling AWS-based infrastructure for global deployment. Migrate dependencies and data across AWS regions while reducing technical debt and developing greenfield solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for automated AWS infrastructure deployment
- Apply infrastructure-as-code best practices using AWS CDK and related tools
- Use GenAI tools to map infrastructure to CDK
- Support multi-region data migration (S3, RDS, DynamoDB)
- Collaborate on monitoring, alarming, and operational excellence
- Advise on AWS best practices
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years with AWS services and SDK
- Expertise in AWS CDK and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with Docker, ECS, Kubernetes
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or TypeScript
- Strong CI/CD pipeline development skills
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with serverless (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway)
- Familiarity with EMR, Spark, Glue
- Event-driven architecture (EventBridge, SQS, SNS)
- Knowledge of DynamoDB, RDS, and AWS databases
- Multi-region deployment experience
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
