We're working with a leading global financial services organisation that’s currently looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join their growing team in Galway. This is a key role within a high-performing engineering group building secure, large-scale platforms that support millions of customer interactions.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background in Java development, 8+ years minimum
  • Experience with experience in REST APIs and microservices architecture
  • Proficient with CI/CD tools (e.g. uDeploy), and containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of event-driven systems (Kafka, Webhooks)
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development using tools such as JUnit, Jest, Jasmine, etc.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • Hands-on experience or strong interest in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot across the full technology stack


Nice to Have:

  • Experience working in regulated environments (finance, insurance, etc.)
  • Exposure to data engineering tools or concepts


Candidates must have a Stamp 4 or EU Citizenship.
