Senior Backend Engineer (NodeJS)

GigSafe is the #1 workforce management solution for businesses that engage independent contractors. We help our customers onboard 1099 workers compliantly, pay workers quickly, automate back-office work, and scale their fleets. We know what it takes to do this. Our previous product was used by hundreds of thousands of gig workers to get all their work pings in one place and unlock new work.

At Gigsafe we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us work on the new features and improve overall platform quality and performance. As an engineering team member, you will be working with other team members as well as interacting with different stakeholders. We have a fairly light process, so there is much freedom, but strong ownership of the outcomes is expected in return. Product is still early in its lifecycle so there are a lot of ways for our new team member to impact its success.

Required:

• 4 years of experience working with NodeJS
• 2 year of experience working with TypeScript
• 2 year of experience working with relational databases
• Experience integrating 3rd party APIs (payment providers, CRMs, etc.)
• Experience working with one of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• 4-hour overlap with EST timezone
• Good spoken and written English

Preferred:

• Experience working with NestJS or similar REST API framework
• Proven track record of being able to work in a highly asynchronous environment

Responsibilities:

• Write maintainable, reliable, and testable code
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team on a daily basis - planning out complex tasks, performing code reviews, pair programming, etc
• Resolve any high-priority customer issues in a timely manner
• Take new features from product specification to production
