Senior Software Engineer

We’re hiring on behalf of a global financial services organisation seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their growing Galway-based technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-scale, customer-facing platforms used by millions, with a focus on both backend and frontend engineering.

You’ll join an Agile team focused on building secure, modern applications with a strong emphasis on engineering best practices, cloud readiness, and performance.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
• Experience with Angular (v10+) and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools (e.g. uDeploy)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, Webhooks)
• TDD experience using tools like JUnit, Jest, Jasmine, etc.
• Exposure to NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Cloud experience (preferably AWS or Azure)

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a regulated industry such as finance or insurance
• Background in full-stack development with performance and scalability in mind
• Familiarity with data engineering tools or concepts

Candidates must have a Stamp 4 or EU Citizenship
