Job Title: Backend Developer/ Technical Lead Engineer

Client is seeking a Back End Software Engineer to join our Contact Centre product team.
This team is dedicated to creating exceptional customer experience products that leverage cutting-edge technologies, including React and Typescript. Our mission is to empower over 140,000 global businesses by delivering solutions that enhance customer interactions and satisfaction.
As an Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing high-quality systems architecture that is secure, maintainable, and accessible. You will collaborate closely with designers and fellow engineers to develop innovative solutions that address real customer needs. This is an autonomous role that offers significant opportunities for impact across the Zendesk product family.
The Role
• Building and monitoring our scalable, high-performance infrastructure solutions on AWS.
• Collaborate with other squads to support product development through cloud architecture and infrastructure.
• Build, monitor, and improve our CI/CD pipelines.
• Drive security and compliance initiatives across the engineering organization.
• Support remediation of production incidents and put learnings into practice for continual improvement.
Responsibilities
• Expectation is to be on site in the Melbourne office at least once per week in addition to agreed on site planning sessions
What you bring to the role
o Professional cloud engineering experience on AWS
o Experience in Go and Python software development
o Practical knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework
o Services we use:
▪ CloudFormation, Lambda, CloudWatch, SNS, Kinesis, EventBridge,
Elasticache, S3, CloudFront, Organization, Control Tower, KMS, Secret
Manager, EKS, ECR, DynamoDB, VPC, API Gateway, Cognito
o Experience deploying infrastructure-as-code with Cloudformation or Terraform
o Ability to drive devops and infrastructure initiatives
o Experience supporting and debugging production systems with critical SLA's
o Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
o Experience with test frameworks like Playwright or Cypress.
o Experience with AWS or Amazon Connect is highly considered.
o Experience with any CX Software is highly considered.
o Excellent communication skills
o Strong problem solving skills
Additional Qualifications:
• Proven ability to work in a small fast-paced start-up oriented team
• Strong experience developing technical architectures on AWS
• AWS Associate, Professional or Specialty Certifications highly considered
