The Role
- We are seeking a visionary and strategic AI Application Manager to build and lead our portfolio of AI application projects across key domains like healthcare, cybersecurity, industry 4.0 and others. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding project managers and their teams, shaping the application strategy, and driving the overall AI application roadmap together with leadership.
- You will collaborate closely with the product team, AI directors and external industry stakeholders to understand market needs, explore cutting-edge AI solutions, and translate these insights into actionable project direction. Additionally, your feedback and insights from application domains will be essential to improving and aligning our AI platform with real-world demands.
- You will report directly to the Director of AI Systems and serve as a crucial bridge between project teams and platform builders.
- Lead the AI Application Program: Oversee a portfolio of AI application projects that implement our AI product stack, led by project managers, ensuring alignment with company strategy and timely execution.
- Drive the Application Roadmap: Define and maintain a comprehensive roadmap across AI application initiatives, balancing short-term deliverables with long-term impact.
- Shape the Application Strategy: Work with leadership, domain experts, and technical teams to define where and how AI should be applied to create value in key sectors like healthcare, cybersecurity, and industry.
- Build the Application Team: In close collaboration with the Director of AI Systems, recruit, structure, and mentor the application team, including project managers and AI engineers with domain expertise.
- Engage with Industry Stakeholders: Represent the application team in discussions with external partners, customers, and stakeholders—jointly with the product team—to understand needs, validate opportunities, and influence solution direction.
- Bridge to Platform Development: Translate insights and recurring needs from application projects into actionable requirements for the AI platform team, ensuring platform development is grounded in real-world usage.
- Promote AI Adoption: Support project managers and domain teams in adopting and using our AI platform and hardware to accelerate application development and deployment.
- Foster Best Practices: Establish and share best practices in AI project execution, from experimentation to production, in collaboration with engineers and domain teams.
- Ensure Ethical and Compliant AI: Work with our AI safety team to ensure applications adhere to ethical standards, data governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Explore New Opportunities: Continuously scan for trends in AI applications and propose new domains, use cases, or projects that align with company goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent business experience is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects or programs in technology or AI.
- Solid understanding of AI technologies and how they are applied in real-world products and systems.
- Experience managing or leading teams of project or program managers.
- Proven success engaging with external stakeholders (e.g., customers, partners, regulators) and internal product/engineering teams.
- Strong strategic mindset with experience defining product or program roadmaps.
- Experience in one or more application-heavy sectors like healthcare, cybersecurity, manufacturing, or fintech is preferred.
- Familiarity with modern AI/ML platforms, tools, and deployment patterns is a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
- Visionary with the ability to connect business needs to technical possibilities.
- Outstanding communicator and stakeholder manager, comfortable in both technical and business conversations.
- Collaborative and diplomatic leader who can navigate complex internal and external ecosystems.
- Structured, analytical thinker with the ability to prioritize and execute across competing demands.
- Curious and resilient in the face of emerging technologies and fast-changing market needs.
