2D Animator

Location: Onsite in Berlin, Hybrid across Germany (travel to Berlin up to twice a month), or Fully Remote within Europe

Role Overview: We are looking for a talented 2D Animator to join our team and bring characters, environments, and UI elements to life in a vibrant casual gaming experience. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with game designers and developers to create and implement captivating animations that elevate gameplay and engage players. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Unity and is excited to contribute to a dynamic and player-centered game development process.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-quality 2D animations using Unity, enhancing player experience with fluid character and environmental animations.
• Work alongside designers, UI artists, and developers to ensure animations align with the creative direction and gameplay needs.
• Integrate animations directly into Unity, focusing on seamless interaction with other game systems for a polished product.
• Optimize animations for performance on various platforms, with an eye toward mobile and social gaming audiences.
• Participate in creative brainstorming, contributing ideas for movement, character expression, and gameplay flow.
  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a 2D Animator in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing skills in Unity animation and implementation.
• Proficiency in character and motion design, with an understanding of timing and pacing in animation.
• Hands-on experience with Unity’s animation tools, workflows, and integration processes.
• Detail-oriented, with an eye for visual consistency and a drive to create animations that enrich the user experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to solving design challenges.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.

• Skills in illustration or graphic design to create animation-ready assets.
