• Pay rate: $65.70/ hour, based on experience
• Contract Length: 6 months
• Work Location: Edmonds - Hybrid preferred, will consider remote candidates willing to work PST hours.
  
  

We at Raise are hiring a BI Reporting Specialist - Dashboards for one of our top clients, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada. After establishing themselves as an industry leader, they’re now expanding their team to meet rising demand.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Job Overview

The BI Reporting Specialist - Dashboards will support distribution engineering in formalizing business reporting in Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform integration, design, and implementation of various reporting and analytics projects by determining business requirements and feasible technical options to support business operations in achieving organizational objectives.
• Review functional specification documents and present the proposed technical design to the development leads for review using excellent analytical skills and communication skills to ensure that the design meets business requirements.
• Develop sustainable reporting solutions efficiently by following the architectural direction and technical design approved by the solution/technical lead so that projects are completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.
• Maintain reporting solutions by performing operational routine sustainment activities efficiently and on time to support multiple project and sustainment teams across the organization.
• Collaborate with functional and technical teams by validating business/information requirements, translating them into a conceptual business design model, and troubleshooting development items to deliver sustainable technical solutions.
  
  

Key Deliverables

• Establish a Power BI Workspace centralizing Distribution Engineering dashboard reports
• Develop Power BI Dashboards and visualizations based on existing Distribution Engineering reports
• Support Distribution Engineering in developing and testing new reports, metrics, and dashboards.
• Engage with DE stakeholders to understand business needs and link data sources/reports.
• Establish manual and automated process to extract data from data sources, organize and transform data inputs for reporting into Power BI dashboards and Microsoft Excel reports.
• Document process for maintaining data sources connections and updating dashboards.
• Follow Data Governance practices and catalog reports, KPI definitions, and business glossary
• Adhere to Information Management policies and procedures around the handling of confidential and the protection of personal information.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of consulting experience in reporting and analytics or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• Power BI experience
• Data Analytics/reporting skills & SharePoint experience
• Advanced MS Excel experience
• Excellent technical skills in data models, Dashboard, Analysis, and Web Intelligence
• Excellent performance tuning skills
• Good working knowledge and experience in the design and construction of data/information architectures that enable integrated reporting and analytical solutions
• Good working knowledge of change management procedures and policies
• Excellent communication skills for professional environment, written and spoken
