Principal iOS Engineer

About The Role

We're seeking a seasoned and passionate iOS Principal Engineer to join our Browse & Manage (App) team, based in Amsterdam and London. This central team is responsible for defining and evolving the storefront, product discovery, and account management experiences across our native mobile applications for all Storio Group brands. As the iOS Principal Engineer, you will be instrumental in setting the technical direction for the iOS platform within the team, guiding architectural decisions, fostering engineering excellence, and ultimately elevating our entire mobile platform. Your contributions will directly support our mission to help customers find the right product for their moment through intuitive, high-quality native app features.

• Define and own the iOS technical roadmap and target architecture, charting the course for our mobile future.
• Design and deliver scalable, maintainable, and performant iOS features that delight our users.
• Make critical architectural and implementation decisions that shape our mobile platform.
• Represent the iOS perspective in product discovery and cross-team planning, ensuring our mobile voice is heard.
• Establish and drive adoption of best engineering practices, championing quality and efficiency.
• Monitor and improve codebase health and strategically manage technical debt.
• Work closely with Product Managers (PM) and Engineering Managers (EM) on technical feasibility and success criteria.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers (PEs) and tech leads across domains to ensure platform alignment.
• Lead knowledge sharing and support the technical growth of iOS engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

What You Bring To The Party

• Deep expertise in Swift and extensive experience building scalable, production-grade native iOS apps.
• Strong experience with modular architectures (MVVM, Coordinators, DI, etc.).
• A proven record of leading complex initiatives and making impactful technical decisions.
• Comfortable mentoring engineers and guiding architectural vision, inspiring growth within the team.
• Experience in managing codebase health and implementing robust technical quality standards.
• A strong collaboration mindset across Product, Design, and Backend teams.
• Effective at balancing speed and long-term technical foundations, delivering results while building for the future.
