The Position

Junior User Experience Specialist
Have you recently completed your studies, a course, or an internship in the IT industry and want to continue developing in this field? Are you looking to start—or re-start—your career? Are you curious about IT and eager to explore new technologies? If you answered yes to these questions, then our Tech4Life Academy is a great opportunity to gain your first hands-on IT experience under the guidance of a dedicated mentor. We’re looking for bold explorers who want to join our diverse team, build their competencies, and broaden their experiences.

At Roche, we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now, we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs, such as workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings, and other collaborative events.

The Opportunity

As part of the Human-Centered Design team, you will collaborate closely with data scientists, computational scientists, and bioinformaticians. Our team in Computational Science & Exploratory Analytics develops applications and pipelines to analyze large-scale data and generate meaningful scientific insights.

In this role, you will:

  • Work alongside and be mentored by experienced UX designers and researchers to shape the user experience of Roche’s digital products
  • Analyze user feedback gathered through interviews and surveys
  • Extract insights and transform them into actionable solution concepts
  • Create low-fidelity mockups to visualize design ideas
  • Evaluate the usability of digital solutions using methods such as usability testing

Who you are:

  • Aspiring IT professional with a keen interest in UX and a background in Life Sciences (must have)
  • Initial hands-on experience with UX research or design (e.g., user interviews, personas, user flows, low-fidelity mockups)
  • Basic knowledge of UX methods, best practices, and design trends
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with a curiosity for understanding user needs
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from others
  • Nice to have: knowledge of bioinformatics or data science Experience with workshop facilitation (e.g., Design Thinking) or high-fidelity mockups Interest in healthcare innovation and emerging technologies

  • 12-month employment contract, with the potential for extension
  • Salary: 8 000 – 9000 PLN gross/month
