One of our most exciting clients (an innovative and fast-growing global biotech) are expanding their Business Information Systems team and seek a Junior Cloud Engineer to support their digital infrastructure transformation.
This role sits within the Infrastructure Engineering function, where you'll contribute to the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based systems and automation tools that enable secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions. The environment is highly collaborative, agile, and dynamic, offering exposure to cutting-edge technologies and regulated industry practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage cloud infrastructure solutions, primarily in Microsoft Azure (AWS experience a plus).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Git-based workflows.
- Support CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps and other tools (GitHub is a plus).
- Work closely with internal IT and business teams to support infrastructure needs across multiple domains.
- Assist in implementing FinOps practices for cloud cost optimization and transparency.
- Support containerized workloads with tools like Kubernetes.
- Ensure documentation and governance practices are adhered to, especially in a regulated environment.
- Stay up to date with evolving technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
- 1–4 years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or DevOps role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, and ideally exposure to AWS.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Git, and modern IaC principles.
- Familiar with CI/CD processes, especially in Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architectures.
- Interest or experience in working with Kubernetes.
- Solid problem-solving abilities and comfortable navigating fast-paced environments.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with cloud security and compliance principles (regulated industry experience is a plus).
Nice to Have:
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries.
- Exposure to AI platforms, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
- Experience supporting both project-based and operational cloud environments.
