Freelance Data Scientist

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Scientist to support the analysis, documentation, and enhancement of existing programs developed in R, SAS, Excel, MS Access, and C#. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving performance, implementing quick wins, and increasing the efficiency of our data processing and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and document existing R, Excel, MS Access, C#, and SAS programs.
• Migrate existing SAS programs to R, ensuring functional equivalence and enhanced performance.
• Improve performance and efficiency of existing R programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for quick wins and process enhancements.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation for implemented changes and developments.

Languages

• Verbal and written communication: Dutch and/or French (active knowledge required)
• Written communication: English (proficient for documentation purposes)

Technical Knowledge

• Strong programming skills in R, SAS, SQL, Python, and experience with Power BI.
• Familiarity with database tools and data manipulation in large datasets.
• Experience in test planning and execution using XRAY or similar testing frameworks.

Experience

• Previous experience in business analysis, especially in analyzing processes involving large databases and data tools.
• Proven track record of improving or optimizing legacy systems through code and process enhancements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in data analytics, programming, or business analysis are a plus.
