About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cloud & S3 Storage Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of object storage services across hybrid infrastructures (on-premises and public cloud). This role is key to enabling scalable, secure, and resilient storage solutions for a major enterprise operating in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design
• Define enterprise-grade architecture for S3-compatible object storage, supporting hybrid workloads across AWS, Azure, and on-prem infrastructures.
• Hybrid Strategy
• Design seamless integration between datacenter and cloud object storage.
• Implementation Leadership
• Deploy and configure storage clusters (e.g., Cloudian HyperStore), ensuring HA, scalability, and data durability.
• Automation & IaC
• Utilize tools like Terraform and Ansible to implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Monitoring & Optimization
• Leverage HyperIQ, Prometheus, or Grafana to monitor performance, detect anomalies, and tune storage behavior.
• Security & Compliance
• Enforce data protection and encryption policies in line with EU regulatory requirements.
• Disaster Recovery Planning
• Design and test robust DR and backup strategies using versioning, replication, and high availability principles.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Integrate storage solutions with Kubernetes, APIs, and CI/CD or GitOps pipelines in partnership with DevOps and infrastructure teams.
• Documentation
• Maintain comprehensive architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and audit-ready records.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure or storage architecture with expertise in S3 and object storage.
• Deep knowledge of distributed storage platforms such as Cloudian, MinIO, and AWS S3.
• Experience with hybrid cloud integration, secure multi-tenant storage, and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, container-based deployments, and storage in CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong grasp of EU compliance, IAM, and encryption protocols.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cloudian HyperStore, HyperBalance, and HyperIQ.
• Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies and working in scaled enterprise environments.
• Background in high-throughput storage performance tuning and capacity planning.
