Apleona is looking for a Human Resources (HR) Intern to join our team in Carrigaline, Co Cork

Duration of Post Minimum of 3 months fixed term contract.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, minimum 30 hours per week

Key Working Relationships

The post holder will have the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of our HR Department. Through hands-on experience, the post holder will be awarded HR responsibilities to gain insight into how a HR Department in the Facilities Management Area works. In addition, they will apply their learnings from third level education in a practical setting allowing them to develop their skillset and grow their potential through supported learning with on-the-job training and an assigned mentor.

Professional Duties And Responsibilities

This placement will rotate through the following areas of HR and have exposure to the following:

  • Administration (confirmation of employment letters/maternity and paternity leave request forms).
  • Ensure HR data is accurate and updated on our HR System.
  • Address internal and external enquiries through our AskHR platform.
  • Input data onto the relevant HR Systems as required( Absence, Retirement, Medical certs and return to work interview forms, Probation forms)
  • Work with a member of the HR team on work permits and visas and action as required.
  • Attend IR/ER meetings as appropriate along with experienced members of the HR Business Partner team to gain exposure to this area of the role.
  • Assist with project work as required.
  • Update training records on relevant system.
  • Assist in developing training material, room bookings, sending invites to participants.
  • Liaising with staff in other departments in a confidential, courteous and professional manner.
  • Participating in HR and other meetings as required.

Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications And Experience

  • Studying towards a third level qualification or having completed a relevant discipline such as Business Studies/HR/Commerce with a particular interest in Human Resources.
  • Strong attention to detail is a prerequisite of this role.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a very busy environment.
  • Strong ability to multitask.
  • Good time management and organisation skills
