BIOS CUSTOMER FACING FIRMWARE ENGINEER

The Role

We are looking for a Technical Staff Engineer with an obsession for Firmware / BIOS.

The team needs an experienced platform BIOS engineer to work with customers as well as internal development team on Server platform BIOS solutions for AMD’s cutting-edge server products. Come help customers solve challenging problems and help them get the most out of AMD systems.

The Person

You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, verify and/or validate firmware, software and/or hardware
  • Provide consultation to customers regarding AMD features and programming requirements
  • BIOS and SW support on customer server and/or embedded platforms with AMD solutions
  • Customer training
  • BIOS/firmware development, validation, debugging on AMD platforms
  • Work with customers to help solve issues
  • Work with internal teams to solve customer issues and implement new features
  • Support internal and external platform bring-up


Preferred Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Server architecture, x86 processors, and other system components.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Expertise in C programming language and hardware debugging.
  • Knowledge of UEFI is a plus.
  • Knowledge of RAS on AMD systems is a plus.


Academic Credentials

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
